Terms of service

1 · Agreement

These terms are between you and David Borg, the publisher of SM Crawler. By installing or using SM Crawler you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.

2 · What SM Crawler is

SM Crawler is software you install on your own device. It collects your own activity from services you choose to connect and shows it to you in one place. It is a viewer and an alerting tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Meta Platforms, WhatsApp, Instagram, or any other platform it can connect to.

3 · Your accounts, and the platforms' rules

You may only connect accounts you own or are authorised to manage. Your use of each connected platform remains governed by that platform's own terms. SM Crawler will not attempt to bypass a platform's restrictions, and you agree not to use it in an attempt to do so.

4 · Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use SM Crawler on devices you control, for yourself or for the business you operate it for. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, sublicense or publish the software, or remove or alter its authorship and copyright notices, without written permission.

5 · What we are not responsible for

SM Crawler depends on services we do not control. Platforms change their rules, restrict access, expire credentials and have outages, and any of these can stop part of the app working through no fault of yours or ours. SM Crawler is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost business, or for anything you miss because a notification did not arrive. SM Crawler is a convenience, not a guarantee. Do not rely on it alone where missing a message would cause you serious harm.

6 · Availability and changes

The software is updated from time to time, and updates may add, change or remove functionality — sometimes because a platform has forced the change. Where a platform withdraws access, the affected part of SM Crawler may stop working permanently.

7 · Ending it

You may stop using SM Crawler at any time by deleting it, which also deletes everything it held. See Delete my data. We may end this licence if you breach these terms.

8 · Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
